"I was born with a paint brush in my hand and linseed oil in my veins. I can't tell you when I first started painting because I can't remember not painting. I view my world through a kaleidoscope lens of big, bright, beautiful colors, which nourish my soul! These colors flow from me onto my canvases. I am joyful. I am grateful. Throughout my life, my art has been my expression - my companion - my therapy - my joy! I paint because painting makes me happy - pure and simple."
Fine artist Eva Mozingo is currently living in Harrison TN. She studied at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and at Chattanooga State Technical Community College, as well as studying with several individual artists. For most of her adult life, she made her living traveling throughout the southeast, exhibiting and selling her work at art festivals in Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia, especially in Atlanta, where she also exhibited with a design firm. She has maintained a long-term working relationship with an Atlanta designer who matches her work with her clients' need for artwork, including engaging Eva as a mural painter in their homes. She also was engaged as an onsite demo artist at a venue in the upscale
neighborhood of Buckhead.
Although versed in various media, her media of choice are oils and acrylics, both of which lend themselves beautifully to producing the bright, bold colors so characteristic of her art. The richness of these colors reflect her philosophy of art and life. She sums it up in this phrase: "Abbondanza, y'all!
This is not the dress rehearsal!"
